I cannot believe it is already November - time is flying and so am I. Hopped on another plane, this time to Seattle, and spent a weekend soaking in the PNW fall weather. San Diego is still pretty warm during the day, although our single pane windows and lack of insulation in our home say otherwise, but I’ve spent the last week figuring out how to navigate the sun setting before 5pm - weren’t we supposed to get rid of the time change? Anyways - heres another WTFrack.
FEELING: Festive (again)! - Finished off celebrating Halloween on the 31st as Cody Maverick and Chicken Joe from the cinematic masterpiece Surf’s Up - it was a hit out on the town. I am not normally one to decorate for Christmas until after Thanksgiving but as Thanksgiving is so late this year and I’ll only be in San Diego for about two weeks in December, the Haines House got festive and put up our Christmas decor this past weekend. On brand for the Haines House - everything is disco themed - disco ball tree topper, ornaments, and a hand crafted disco ball garland for above the fire place (pictured below).
As the holidays are approaching I am very excited for all the festivities and activities coming up.
READING: Unfortunately, I have not been able to find a book that suits my fancy right now. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
ACHIEVING: I have finally settled into a solid workout routine since being back from my trip which may not seem like much, but that is what keeps me sane. From being sick to weekend trips, it took me awhile to get there but I feel like I am finally making progress in the right direction. I have a long way to go but thats the beauty of it. Now I just need to figure out which race I want to do next!
CREATING: We have a new craft in the Haines Household - polymer clay magnets. Thanks to a recommendation from a friend, a few Tik Tok videos, and a trip to Michael’s - we are the proud crafters of 20+ new magnets on the fridge. For those that don’t know, I collect magnets from everywhere I have traveled and love to put them on my fridge. Making these little magnets in the evening while it’s now dark and chilly outside has been a fun project to work on and the possibilities are endless!

KEEPING UP: Ami and I spent the weekend after Halloween in Seattle soaking in the fall colors and loads of football. We went to both the Husky game on Saturday and the Seahawks game on Sunday - my first NFL game! Although they lost it was a great one to watch and soak in the atmosphere. I had my first Seattle Dog (minus the jalapeños) and enjoyed my time back in the PNW. I am very excited to head back north for thanksgiving. This past week Ami and I got to see Becky Hill (one of our favorite artists) perform at a small venue in down town San Diego and it was so fun! She has such a unique voice and I’d go as far to say she sounded better live than on her tracks which I feel is pretty hard to do.
