Well, I’ve made it into double digits when it comes to writing random posts about my life. I’ve been meaning to write more, I’ve fallen off my own bandwagon of my travel recap posts… but the trusty biweekly update brings me back.
FEELING: To be honest, a bit stagnant. Stuck maybe. Neither being words anyone wants to use to describe how they’re feeling. I’m feeling a bit like I'm in a Groundhog Day moment, like I am living the same day over and over, sitting on LinkedIn and applying to jobs day in and day out.
I also haven’t planned anything for myself this year since I am trying to be financially conscious. Not that I’m someone who has every week(end) of their life planned out, but I normally have some sort of trip to visit friends or an athletic endeavor/race planned in the future that gives me something to look forward to, but for the first time in my life, I don’t.
Granted, I understand it could be much worse, but as someone who loves adventure and extreme amounts of cardio, I’m just feeling a bit stuck at the moment.
READING: I am still working my way through What I Talk About When I Talk About Running by Haruki Murakami... So much for assuming I could get through it for my January non-fiction. It’s not that I am not enjoying it; it’s that I am just awful at reading non-fiction books. I like to read before bed, and they put me to sleep. I guess that’s the point, but when I can only make it through one or two pages a night due to boredom, it takes a while. But if you give me a good 600-page nonfiction - I’ll finish in a day and a half.
ACHIEVING: My 2024 recap magazine has finally been sent to print, and I am SO excited to receive it. It’ll take a few more weeks until it arrives in the mail, but it was such a fun way to remember the year. I’m excited to make one for the next years to come.
CREATING: Mood Boards - We had a few girlfriends over on a Friday night to make 2025 mood boards for the year. Ami and I last did this for 2023 and have had them hanging on our bedroom doors for the past two years, so we figured they were in for an upgrade. Mine turned out a bit darker than I had hoped for, partially because of the color grade on the printing, but the difference from the two years is comical at this point.

KEEPING UP: I have been keeping up with a ton of friends the past couple of weeks, which has been great. The past week alone, I spoke to 6 different friends on the phone and caught up with a few others in person (I love a good walk and talk). I had a Camino-filled weekend, getting to pretty spontaneously reunite with Erik before he flew out of LA for another grand adventure and then receiving a long-awaited package from Joachim containing the film photos he took of the last two weeks of the Camino. Now, I need to find a place to hang them up.

Ami and I went to her brother’s house to watch the Super Bowl, where he graciously made his own ice cream and set up an ice cream bar with all types of toppings. As an ice cream connoisseur, it was delicious.
